The mind is one fucked up little thing. I really should be sleeping now, since I've only logged in a couple of decent hour sleep during the past couple of days. I really should be either resting, or doing something productive. Anyway, since I'm not doing either one of those two things, i figured, "Hell, why not put all my thoughts on virtual paper" So... Click the link, fink!
Ok, so, who doesn't own a cellphone? Really? In today's modern age, EVERYONE has those little electronic telephones either hanging around their neck, in one of their pockets, in a nifty little sack thats hooked onto their belts, or for some freaky, and really unsafe reason, just dangling from one of their side pants pockets. Everyone is technological. One has to wonder, what are the bad things that can happen in this technological age? Well, personally, I think the major setback is when these gadgets figure out how much we need them and they turn against us and enslave the entire human race...but theres no scientific proof to back that up, so I'll just leave that as mere speculation. But really, what are the possible negative things that occur because of technology?
Here's one, Sex Scandals. Yeah, boi, I said it. For some reason, there's a sex scandal that comes out every freaking day in our country. Don't you people find that weird? Let me paint a picture for you...in one site the webmaster uploads, on an average, around 10 scandals, daily. Sure he, skips a day or two sometimes, but when he resumes, he goes all out, like with twice the number of a single update, sometimes even thrice! Ok, so back to my picture...if, let's say, this site uploads 15 local sex scandals for August 12 (and believe me, this is possible...oh so very possible), that means that for August 12, there were a minimum of 15 idiots that trusted their partner (or...partnerS) to a certain extent to allow themselves to be documented in provocative ways. So thanks to technology, not only do we know, on a daily estimated average, how many idiots there are in our country, but we also pretty much fuck up our society's moral fiber. Although I'm guessing this is a field day for local pervs.
With regard to moral fiber, we also have the onslaught of various provocative celebrity pictures being passed around various local websites. Now I'm not saying that this is bad, oh no no no no, in fact, I applaud the Filipino's sheer talent in making sure if one male has a boner, the rest of the Philippine's straight male population has an equal opportunity for one as well (and not in a gay way). This just shows how much we all love to share...knowledge. So, famous people's provocative pictures? Yeah, no problem. Fuck, if they didn't wanna cause thousands of boners and self-induced male orgasms on a daily basis, then why the hell do they allow themselves to be photographed that way? [Sidenote: where are these so-called sites you ask? I'll never tell...i worked hard looking for them, you should too] My main concern however, is when normal people get into the mix. I know, I know, the rules are pretty much the same "If you don't want you ass all over the internet, don't take a picture/video of it". But what if these people took these items in the privacy of their own home? It's so easy for someone to be a contact of someone on a Multiply site, and it's even easier to lift whatever pictures they see off that multiply site and post them on some other blog under a different name. Technology does this type of shit. Damn.
One good thing about technology though, is that it made our lives easier. My parents no longer need to wait for me to come home, they merely just call me and scream at me and pretty much order me to come home. So technology's all good, when used wisely. Honestly, I think piracy's good. I think our society now is smart enough to know when to use piracy. I myself only download things that i really cannot get here. So that scrapes out local movies, local music, local comics...pretty much anything local. I also to download things I'd rather collect, like Star Wars movies, rare comics, rare movies, and my weird collection of Smallville DVDs. I think there is such a thing as responsible piracy...i know it's weird seeing as the term 'piracy' already denotes something negative, but for the term 'responsible piracy' I see the term 'piracy' as synonymous with 'spending'. Not exactly 'of money' but more of 'time' and 'effort'. So in a way, responsible piracy means, responsible spending of your time and effort. I.e. I'd rather download some crappy, but funny B-Movie, that I'm probably going to watch only once, than have to ship it here from abroad. Another thing about responsible piracy, is that YOU do it yourself; you download what you want, and not actually pay for it...now i believe thats the illegal part of piracy.
Anyway, thats pretty much it for my "Rambles For You Shambles"
Keep at it Kids!
Cheers!
